Passionate about Education - Strengthening minds - Ensuring the future

Brian Harris - Assistant Chief Executive - Spelthorne Borough Council

I have known Paul Edmonds for nearly 10 years working with him on various committees, events and initiatives in the Spelthorne area.
Paul has been a regular attendee of the Spelthorne and Runnymede Education Business Partnership, which I Chair, and has always shown a genuine enthusiasm to encourage children and young people to consider the impact of their actions on the environment. One particular project which he initiated and drove through was the Litter Free Schools Awards. These awards started in Spelthorne and have now been picked up by several other Boroughs. This particular initiative was Paul’s brainchild and he has ensured its continuing success through his enthusiasm, commitment, dedication and hard work.
The project is now well established, so much so that despite McDonald’s withdrawal from the scheme it has been picked up by the Borough Council and our local volunteer environmental group – Civic Pride – testimony to Paul’s skills and success as well as an appropriate fitting legacy.
